Nicol & Andrew (MSPE) provides thermal spraying services from our Glasgow facility, applying wear, corrosion and repair coatings for clients in energy, oil & gas, defence, rail, marine and industrial sectors.
Thermal spray is a group of processes that melt a coating material and project it onto a prepared surface, building up a bonded layer that restores worn components or protects new ones. For over 17 years, we have supplied thermal spray coatings to companies including SLB, Celeros and NOV.
We operate four thermal spray processes in-house, so each job is matched to the right one:
Our HVOF spraying services produce dense, hard-wearing coatings such as tungsten carbide, widely used as an alternative to hard chrome plating. Arc wire spraying applies thick coatings quickly over large areas for corrosion protection and rebuilding worn surfaces. Flame powder spraying suits repair work and components that need a machinable finish. Flame wire spraying, often called thermal flame spray, applies metals such as zinc and aluminium for corrosion protection. Where coated parts need tight tolerances, our cylindrical grinding services finish them to size in the same facility.
