Winch Roller Repair

Scope of work:

Client got in contact looking for a way to repair this Winch Roller without fully replacing the part.

After an initial discussion with the team at Nicol & Andrew (MSPE) we decided that repairing the damaged area with our HVOF Diatec 1060 coating was the best solution to ensure a excellent repair and to also extended the lifespan of the component

Method:

Firstly, This component was brought into our workshop, set up in one of our large capacity cylindrical grinders and ground, this process was done to remove all existing coating and ensure the base material was free from and defects, running true and parallel

Secondly, The component would be moved into our coating shop and would be coated in our Diatec 1060 HVOF coating

Finally, component would then return to our cylindrical grinder for finish machining, this process will return the component to withing the customer specification

Results:

Customer has received a fully refurbished Component, this will not only reduce the overall repair cost but saving vital downtime.

HVOF Coating has now fully repaired this component to OEM specifications
