Scope of work:

Customer choose to use Nicol & Andrew as a trusted repair solution after they discovered some wear on critical journals, this wear developed after a substantial time in operation

This was a straight forward repair for the team at Nicol & Andrew as this is a standard repair for our team.

Once the part had been received we began work in preparing these areas for coating, both areas where machined undersize to allow for HVOF coating.

They were then HVOF coated using a material specified by the customer

Finally the part was ground as per the customer specification, this brough both journals back with OEM specification

Results:

Customer has now received a fully repaired part by using our HVOF process, this has not only saved the customer the cost & downtime of fully manufacturing this part but will also extend the lifespan of both journals as an improved material has been applied to these surfaces.
