Pump Casing Upgrade

Scope of work:

Customer got in contact and requested that the internals of their Pump Casing were to be coated with Tungsten Carbide (Diatec 1086)

This is a common upgrade within the pump sector to expand the service life of there product.

Method:

Firstly, Component was brought into our facility and set up on one of our large internal grinders, this process was carried out to remove material and make sure the internal wear ring was oversize, this step was carried out to ensure there was enough material removed to allow for the Tungsten Carbide coating.

Secondly, part would now be moved into our coating area where all internals of this casing would be coated excluding any sealing faces that have been requested to be left free from coating.

Finally, Component was now set back up on our grinder to machine the internal wear ring back within the customers specification, the rest of the pump internals would be left in an as sprayed condition.

Results:

Customer has now received an upgraded pump casing that will now extend the lifespan and runtime of their pumps.
