Scope of work:

Customer had dis assembled on of his Gearboxes and come across a heavily worn Output Shaft

Rather that scrapping the original part and seeking replacement through new manufacture they gave Nicol & Andrew (MSPE) a call to see what options were available. we were indeed able to help our customer out by offering a repair using HVOF Diatec 1060 coating

Method:

Firstly, This component was brought into our workshop and set up in one of our conventional lathes, this process was done to ensure the base material was free from and defects, running true and parallel

Secondly, The component would be moved into our coating shop and would be coated in our Diatec 1060 HVOF coating

Finally, component would then return to our External grinder for finish machining ensuring that this component was returned to the OEM standard.

Results:

Customer has received a fully refurbished Component, this will not only reduce the overall service cost but will save them vital downtime in the future due to the improved material properties provided by Diatec 1060

HVOF Coating has now fully repaired this component to OEM specifications
