Offset Sleeve Repair

Scope of work:

Client got in contact looking for a solution to repair & extend the lifespan of his Offset Sleeves

Nicol & Andrew (MSPE)  decided that repairing the damaged area with our HVOF Diatec 1086 (Tungsten Carbide) coating was the best solution to ensure a excellent repair and to extended the lifespan of the component

Method:

Firstly, This component was brought into our workshop and set up in one of our internal & external grinders and ground, this process was done to ensure the base material was free from and defects, running true and parallel

Secondly, The component would be moved into our coating shop and would be coated in our Diatec 1086 HVOF coating

Finally, component would then return to our Internal and External grinder for finish machining, this process will return the component to withing the customer specification

Results:

Customer has received a fully refurbished Component, this will not only reduce the overall repair cost but will save them vital downtime in the future due to the improved material properties

HVOF Coating has now fully repaired this component to OEM specifications
